Skin School
Not sure if this is possible or if this is something you would even entertain the thoughts of....
I would really like to know how to start from square one and design something but to be honest I have no idea how to even begin...
Would it be possible to have Skin School that allows folks to understand the very basics and then they can educate themselves on their own and develop their own style?
Just a question and if its not possible thats cool, but I sure would like to know the very beginning basics so I could spruce up my board and also contribute to things here as I do have some ideas and I have worked in print shops for years so I love starting with a blank page and turning it into something neat. I just have no idea how to begin taking the ideas in my head and getting the into a format that could be used as a web page.

Re: Skin School
That would be an interesting Idea, But I think Runboard Extra! pretty much falls into a 'skin school' type thinger. Unless I am taking what you say wrong lol.

Re: Skin School
well what I was meaning and wondering if it were possible was for someone to start with a blank sheet and design it from the ground up. Maybe I just haven't seen the right threads in rbe~ but that seems to relate more to modifying what they give out when a board is registered.
I just think it would be fun to start with a blank and go from there.

Re: Skin School
Ah I see. It is a good idea, maybe I'll think about adding it here. But you can't really start with a blank page here on RB, the runboard html and css is always here. though I think I know what you mean lol.

Re: Skin School
Well... we could start with one of the early themes that don't have any custom css or html in them and go from there but that is about as close as I can think of to a blank page...

Re: Skin School
I am happy to learn anything, just because I enjoy tinkering and if it can't be done that's fine too~ I am getting more comfortable tinkering. Actually last night said I was going to try and put something together for July 4 and I had fun doing it. I think I will enjoy it more when I am a bit more familiar with things but I am happy to limp along~ I seem to do my best learning limping.

Re: Skin School
Glad you are having fun doing it lol. Mistakes are the greatest way to learn web design. I use to bug the heck out of a friend of mine a long time ago, asking her to help me lol. And She would help me so far but she let me make mistakes and a lot of my mistakes were so big, I learned rather quickly not to do those particuliar mistakes.
So Yeah, Lesson number one. Mistakes are your friend lol. Sorry I'm a bit tipsy >.<
